Helping you get the most out of solar energy
Our renewable energy asset management incorporates advanced technical support. Focused on the 24/7 monitoring and reporting of real-time and estimated power generation, our experts ensure your installation is performing optimally and meeting its targets. When needed, we’re on hand immediately to take preventative or remedial action.
Our team of experts is dedicated to tracking costs, warranties, and any legal or regulatory obligations that your solar installation must fulfil. These obligations often serve as prerequisites that must be met before you can start benefitting from government incentives or schemes. Save yourself a headache and let us handle these complexities for you.
At Activ8 Solar Energies, our decades of experience allow us to offer a fully comprehensive Asset Management service that provides total peace of mind. We have a deep understanding of not just the technology underpinning your solar panels, but also the regulatory and legal processes that govern them, so we can take care of everything from preventative maintenance to enhancing performance through detailed data analysis.
This allows you to focus on the day-to-day operations of your business while enjoying the maximum benefits of your solar panel system, including a reduced carbon footprint, cost savings, enhanced energy independence and security, and a solid return on investment.

Your system includes two types of warranty. The equipment itself (inverters, panels, and other components) is protected by manufacturer warranties, usually from providers such as Solis or SolarEdge. These cover defects in the product but do not extend to the cost of installing a replacement.
Alongside this, Activ8 Solar Energies provides a workmanship warranty that covers the quality of our installation. If an issue arises from how the system was fitted, we will resolve it. This warranty is separate from the manufacturer’s and typically lasts for two years.
In short: the manufacturer takes responsibility for the product, while we stand behind the integrity of our installation.
Our maintenance packages are designed to keep your system performing at its best and ensure compliance with warranty and insurance requirements. The level of cover depends on whether you choose our Standard or Premium service:
Standard includes the core services essential for system performance and insurance compliance, such as online monitoring, warranty management, scheduled testing, and both electrical and mechanical inspections.
Premium includes everything in Standard, plus panel cleaning (roof access required) and, in most cases, a drone survey for added system insight.
In addition, we offer a range of optional extras, such as thermographic imaging, component replacement, and roof access or plant hire, which can be added as required.
Maintenance isn’t just best practice, it’s a requirement. Solar PV systems fall under BS 7671 wiring regulations, which recognise that all electrical installations can degrade over time and be affected by external conditions. Regular inspections and testing are essential to ensure continued safety, compliance, and performance.
At Activ8 Solar Energies, all maintenance is carried out by qualified electrical engineers in line with BS EN IEC 62446-2, the international standard covering the testing, documentation, and ongoing maintenance of grid-connected PV systems. This also supports compliance with insurance requirements.
Solar panel maintenance costs can vary depending on the size of the PV system, accessibility and what’s included in the package. Typical costs can range from a few hundred pounds for a basic inspection to more for full-service agreements, but investing in annual maintenance usually saves money long-term by preventing expensive solar panel repairs.
Solar asset management is the ongoing care of your solar PV system to make sure it operates safely, efficiently and profitably. It covers:
Common issues include:
Look out for:
Yes. Regular servicing and cleaning help maintain efficiency, maximise output and extendsystem lifespan. A professionally serviced solar panel system will produce more energy and give a better return on investment over time.
Most commercial solar panel systems should be professionally serviced once a year. Between visits, simple checks and occasional cleaning will help keep panels free from common problems like bird droppings, dust or debris.
No – solar panels have no moving parts, which means they require very little upkeep. In the UK, routine cleaning and periodic checks are usually enough to keep them performing well.
Without maintenance, solar panels will still generate electricity, but efficiency and output can slow down. Dirt build-up, inverter faults or unnoticed damage can reduce performance and shorten the lifespan of panels, but with regular checks you can ensure your system delivers power for 25 years or more.
Solar panel maintenance should be carried out by accredited, experienced providers. At Activ8 Solar Energies, we design, install and maintain solar panels across the UK, ensuring every system is professionally serviced, monitored and optimised for long-term reliability.
