The Low Carbon Energy company was ultimately chosen to design, install and maintain a 2.7MW commercial solar PV system for Boohoo, which was installed at its distribution centre in Burnley. The project comprises a total of 5933 Hanwha Qcells Modules and SolarEdge inverters and optimisers. That makes it – to date – the single largest SolarEdge project ever carried out in the UK. It’s already begun saving Boohoo a staggering 592 tonnes of carbon in the first year of its completion; the equivalent of 27,231 trees being planted. The site became fully operational in September 2021. As part of the contract, £10,000 was also collectively donated by both companies to local charities and causes. At the outset of the project, David James, Supply Chain Director at Boohoo Group, said: “We all have a role to play in protecting our environment for future generations.
