The Marine Institute, located on the stunning coastline of Galway, sought a renewable energy solution to support their mission of sustainability and environmental stewardship. We delivered a bespoke 325kWp solar PV system, designed to harness clean energy efficiently in their coastal setting.
The installation features 783 panels, renowned for their high performance and reliability, to maximize energy conversion and system efficiency.
“The installation of these two solar PV systems is a significant milestone in the delivery of the targets set out in the Marine Institute’s Climate Action Roadmap. We look forward to seeing the results of this decarbonisation project well into the future, as we commit to public sector climate objectives.”

Marine Institute could save around €43,741 per year on electricity costs by using this solar system instead of purchasing electricity from the grid.
This system generates around 291,611 kWh/yr of electricity annually.
By using this system Marine Institute can reduce emissions by approximately 75 tonnes (or 75,235 kg/yr) of CO2 per year.
The estimated yearly output of this system is equivalent to the energy needed to power around 70 homes in Ireland for a year.
This system has a carbon impact equivalent to planting around 3,450 mature trees per year.
